The Newfoundland and Labrador Francophone Economic Development Network (RDÉE TNL) is pleased to announce the arrival of Mr. Régis Guyot as their new Economic Immigration Officer.


Régis grew up totally immersed in international environments and quickly became passionate about traveling and multicultural settings.

After studying business and international relations in the United States, France and Sweden, he became a Commercial Counselor for the French Embassy in the US and helped French companies to export their products and create Franco-American partnerships.

He later became Commercial Director and Branch Operations Director for various hotel chains in Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, and actively participated in the economic development of the Dominican Province of El Seibo.

Régis is delighted to be participating in the economic development and employability of Francophone communities of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Job Summary

The Clerk IV in Bilingual Services organizes and coordinates all the administrative affairs of the service and assists in the overall management of Bilingual Services program, while providing administrative/secretarial support of a highly confidential nature. This includes interacting, liaising, and communicating with various internal/external health professionals, agencies, patients, families, volunteers, union leaders, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders related to various functions of the service and the organization. The Clerk IV also interacts with clinicians and regulatory bodies of the French island of St. Pierre et Miquelon (SPM). The Clerk IV translates confidential information from French to English; arranges, coordinates, and may be required to attend departmental, regional, and provincial internal and inter-organizational committee meetings, teleconferences, and special events, etc. The Clerk also composes, distributes, and types agendas, takes and transcribes minutes, and arranges both internal and external room/meeting bookings, equipment, travel/itineraries, and catering as required. Other related duties as required.

Job Qualifications
Successful completion of a two-year Office Administration Program from a recognized/approved college.
Successful completion of a medical terminology certificate is required.
A minimum of three years’ experience within the last five in a progressively responsible administrative role is required.
Demonstrated fluency in French and English (verbal and written) is required.
Knowledge of translation techniques would be an asset.
Ability to translate simple documents with consideration for style, language, usage and flow.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, outlook calendar and internet.
Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated effective problem solving and analytical skills.
Proven ability to work with limited supervision in a dynamic work environment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a deadline driven, team-orientated
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
*Proof of a current office administration program and medical terminology is required. To be considered current, the program and course must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.

JOB OFFER: Recruitment Assistant of Immersion Schools

Newfoundland and Labrador Francophone Economic Development Network (RDÉE TNL) is currently looking to hire someone to assist the Economic Development Officer of Eastern Newfoundland in recruiting immersion schools throughout the province for the 6th edition of the Bilingual Postsecondary Career and Entrepreneurship Day (JOCBE) taking place in St John’s, November 6th 2018.



  • Written and spoken English and French proficiency,
  • High communication skills and being comfortable doing telephone solicitation with provided tools ;
  • High organisational skills;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and online search engines;
  • Desirable attributes including being organized at work, courteous, autonomous and able to meet the deadlines;
  • Knowledge of the province’s school environment and system would be considered an asset.



  • English and French fluency is essential,
  • Being comfortable with phone communications;
  • Availability to work part-time or full-time during office hours Monday to Friday.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contact all secondary schools with French immersion classes of Eastern Newfoundland,
  • Insure the participation of 11th and 12th grade students by recruiting French immersion schools,
  • Regular follow ups with the Economic Development Officer and the recruited schools,
  • Carry out administrative tasks,
  • Be available for the full day prior to the event and on the day of the event on November 6th, 2018,
  • Provide a post-event report.


Work Conditions

  • Starting date: August 27th, 2018
  • Length of assignment : part-time or full-time until November 8th, 2018
  • Location : RDÉE TNL Office
  • Salary per hour: $18 + performance-related bonus
